  • Hey all, Just my experience, so take it for what you will. I've used Fix A Flat type stuff for years and love it. Although, I have found that the actual Fix A Flat brand doesn't work all that well. The other brands work great though. I don't understand how it is supposed to ruin a tire. I have run tires for years after putting that stuff in the tire and have never had to replace the tire after having used it. As far as the tire tech not liking to break down the tire with that stuff in it, we all have parts of our jobs we dislike. They wouldn't walk for you, so jam that stuff in your flat tire and away you go without a second thought ;) It will gum up a TPMS sensor in your tire if you have one though, so be aware of that.

  • Hey today on the highway I realized that tire pressure sensor light came on. I then drove for about 2-3 miles at highway speed (~60-70 miles per hour) until I got to the next exit. When I got out I saw one tire is basically flat, there's a nail in the center of the tire. My question is how does driving at 60-70 mph for 2-3 miles on a flat tire damage the tire? Can I plug it or should I replace it all together?

  • Hey Chris, Great video n details. Just a small additional tidbit, if the tire is new or has considerable treadlife remaining, the best options (as you stated) are to: #1) Add air to get home or repair shop or #2) Put on your spare. The ultimate goal is to have the tire patched from inside which is a much safer permanent repair. /// More n more tire shops will NOT patch your tire from inside if you have already plugged it. The newest safest repair is a PLUG PATCH, it's a rubber plug cylinder attached to center of patch, so the plug fills the hole and the tire is patched internally at same time///. Thanks Chris for everything you do !

    • @ChrisFix first, i watch your video. then i read manual. secure other tires with stone block. then i loose a bit those nuts. then i jack, but just touch the frame. then i whatsapp my brother, double confirm, is that correct. he reply so slow, i just continue jack. then i wiggle that tyre. then i ask myself, HOW HIGH I SUPPOSED TO JACK THIS? chrisfix dont mention this. damn. then i pull out those nuts and continue jack. suddenly that tire fall off on his own. im shocked! lol. i secure under the caliper with another block (just in case it drop). then took that flat tire to NS TYRE shop (with my car), and patch it. Actually, i got problem with my car too. before that i scan at my local shop, it show ALL error inside Transmission FAULT. im worried since i took care that transmission with all my heart. plus, there is vibration even i changed lower arms, all absorber and their mount, absorber link, all ignition coil and plugs (it's faulty around last week), finally engine mount set (3 days ago). but still vibrate. plus that transmission error, im going nuts. go to other workshop (same NS TYRE shop), 1 hour drive, bigger screen scanner, NO ERROR. wtf. then i changed again that mount to original Nissan (thailand, original probably, hard to get nissan japan part). vibrate gone. then, come back home, i trim those extra rubber seal (shop just leave like that. since my sifu aka @chrisfix teach me to trim with razor, i do that). then i put back that tire, tighten it with my 50KG body weigt. then i drive 40KM (got some errand to do - my wife errand, with 99% confident level. another 1% no confident because i tight it with my body weight. lol. THANK YOU SO MUCH Sifu ChrisFix. your videos make others life easier. 7 years driving, first time i change tire by myself. lol
