How to Install a Performance Intake Manifold and Replace Gaskets (Dyno PROOF)
Learn how to replace an intake manifold and intake manifold gaskets in your car or truck. I am upgrading my intake manifold from a non PI intake to a PI performance intake which will hopefully add some Horsepower and Torque! I also show you how to install a water pump, and how to tap the intake port for a coolant temperature sensor.

I really admire the work you put in all the videos. I check for your new videos almost daily and always wonder what takes you so long. Everytime I see the new video I'm like "okay, this was worth waiting". The work you have to put in repairing the car and in addition to that, the work you have to put in moving and placing the camera so every bolt you touch is visible for the viewer and finally editing the video the way you do it (every transition, every splitscreen, all the bolts to mark and these things you do with graphs) must take hours and hours. I really appreciate it and hope that you'll keep doing such a great videos. Even though I don't even have a car, I always enjoy your videos, so one day I buy myself a car, i can do it at home just because of you. Thank you!
Is it a v8
@chrisfix it’s called Teflon tape
@שמעון הכהן he kinda does
@BIGBOI GARAGE repair manual
That's a great compliment and I fully agree. This was a fantastic video and while I do own a car I don't own a Ford and I have no intention of doing this. I didn't even realize 20 minutes passed until the video ended.
Chris fix's dog is highly trained
What kind of intake manifold is that? The link is no longer available
i wonder if he ever thought of doing some sort of motorcycle video
Nobody is going to talk about that backfire 20:28 SWEEEET
2 years later and he still hasn’t put the throttle body on 😂
I bet chris cracked it on purpose just so he could replace it
ive got a crown vic p71 so i already have the performance one ( ͡⌐■ ͜ʖ ͡-■)
I watched this video more than 2x now for fun and I don't even own a car lol
Put a twin turbo on it
Im learning so much by these vids man thx
Hey Chris please do how to install a throttle body
I have done this it’s easer than it looks great video
To be honest, peak horsepower on its own is a illogical way to determine how much overall horsepower a car has, because you can produce 1000hp (peak) but only for a very short period of time where a car that has under 600hp can have a much more consistent torque curve which can make the car more powerful overall.
Good way to look at it! The supercharger should bring it up across the board ;)
I love the Chris fix mustang but I do think it’s kinda funny how my little frs with a little 4 banger makes about the same amount of power as this v8 😂
Crazy how engine technology has improved to that point in a short amount of time! The later 4.6's got a healthy bump to 260 hp and just over 300 lb ft though :p
Still waiting for that supercharger installation
Me too
Chris fix can you show your face in the next vid
God damn so complicated carberators are where it's at man
21:19 im not american, can you convert the horsepower to hamsterpower for me? Here in my country we use hamsterpower
Lol

I want to buy a car from this guy
Would original type gaskets work for this intake?
20:28 BACKFIRE
I really love all your videos but i am wondering where do you get your knowledge
what intake did you put on
Wait a minute, in your other video about changing your exhaust, you had 199hp how come it dropped to 196?
At the last Dino. Mustang spitted fire
We need to preserve this guy.
Hey chris when u service ur car by urself how are you going to have reports on how you maintained the car bcuz they are important when u sell the car Uhm and chris what is the type of supercharger are u going to fit in the car is it a centrifugal supercharger or a twin screw positive displacement supercharger
Keep the receipts and a make a spreadsheet of everything you fix/maintain on your car! And It's going to be a positive displacement ;)
20:28 FIRE
Hello Chris! I have a 2000 Mustang GT and trying to replace heater nipple and heater metal tube. Having a hard time removing heater tube. Can you please help any recommendations?

This manifold swap has been a nightmare. After managing all the tools, parts and sources for drilling everything. I get it all buttoned up looks great. after a 20 miles down the road, My upper radiator hose has too much pressure and I find my heads are bad. Some advice for others, CHECK YOUR HEADS FIRST before you put any money in it then decide if this is a job you want to do. I would of defiantly ditched my stang and bought a different car. The amount of money I put in my 98 I could of just bought a 04 mustang.
I’ve spent the last 8 hours straight watching you! I think I’ve seen every video three times now!!
I feel like I should buy the same cars he is so I can really follow along.
@ChrisFix what the heck, how fast do you respond?! Good videos, made me buy tools so I can get started on a 87 honda that was my first car. Been sitting for 4 years.
It's always the same concept with all of the videos regardless of make and model!
are we not going to talk about how he poped a little flame, ik its been two years but it still upsets me how no one was hyped.
You have not yet made the video about the throttle body
At 20:24 it shot a flame
Label baggies 🤣
“Today we are gonna be replacing every part of my car”
Cooper is soo well behaved
Where did you get the manifold?
With NPT taps you general want to stop about 4 or 5 threads from the top of the tap, just a little heads up. Love the vids!
I just want to thank you Chris for all the work you put into showing step-by-step in a such detailed manner. Your hard work it's appreciated!!
Hi Chrisfix
I am so glad
Boy the work it takes to make an SN95 2v still not fast...
How are you gonna install the supercharger
Seems a little complicated, should I do this for my Nissan 240sx when I get it?
20:29
The exhaust shoot out fire 20:27
20:28 exhaust pop
Chris: Don't leave the coolant out in the open because your animals will drink it! Cooper: I WANT TO DRINK IT!!!!
Almost all the comments made me laugh like CRAZY
I thought “ Ford built tough”
And?
Bro I’ve been watching since 2017and I learned so much from this man
Cooper's cute 💯💢💪😎👍🙏⛄🎄🎁🎀🍀🥦
In one of his videos Chris said he wanted to be a marine biologist: "This is how you replace a rusty hammerhead on a hammerhead shark using only common hand tools!"
How did you not talk about the flame bruh
Hey love the videos have you thought about adding a performance air filter?
Rookies put bolts back in what they came out of. Real mechanics put all the bolts together in a tray and REMEMBER WHERE KT CAME FROM,
And stop using a sponge. Get a damn die grinder and use cookie disks. THATS WHAT THERE FOR . TO CLEAN SURFACES
How do I know how many pounds I’m tightening it?
No one has this much tools at home😂😂😂
That was amazing! I don't even own a Ford. haha
that back fire
When's he installing that supercharger?
@ChrisFix Cant wait to see that video, btw I love ur videos everything I know about cars is from your videos so thanks
Whenever the dynos/tuners can open back up!
Camshafts are the restriction in the high rpm’s
The link for the intake doesn’t work
just search up ford 4.6 sohc pi intake
I love it when he says out with the old and in with the new
Still waiting on that supercharger install you mentioned in the outro...
You should port match and polish
Thanks for the idea!
When will cooper get his dream car??
Yeah!!!!
Cooper go kart build? :p
How do you do the spray paint on the camera? And if go next part
I like how coop looking away from the coolant
He knows not to even look at it!
I could've put that rtv shit on mine😭 i could've fix this small problem on my manifold gasket.
3:59 Mechanic coop mechanic coop does what ever mechanic do mechanic coop oooo yea
Im learning all this😈👍
This is how many times he said intank manafold
Me before this video: gee how are you gonna replace that Me: after this video ok that’s pretty cool I can do this now Cheers mate your videos are awesome and have helped me so much
Chris it's amazing how you do these using Science to make it A lot easier. Amazing work keep it up! :)
Wooder pump
@ChrisFix 😂👍🏻
Yesss
20:29 What the. How did that happened. Exhaust pops only happens on Supercars. This makes no sense
Why can't all other how to mechanic videos on youtube be as clear and detailed as chrisfix and A1auto
Because most mechanics would really prefer that you brought your car in for THEM to work on.
How you know everthing
Chris actually knows what will happen to us
Dude merrychristmas chris thats so many wires😱😱😱😘😘🥰🥰❣❣
Will you add an air filter? (Specifically an aftermarket one)
This series really makes me want to make a mustang my future project car
He just bought a car and changed ever part by himself how lucky he is.
Not every part, but close :p
The doubtful butcher congruently kiss because hen joly blind into a fat faulty burma. tedious, spectacular pastor
The steady move utrastructurally ignore because ronald ontogenically manage within a dapper tadpole. strong, bitter meeting
my tinfoil fell into the engine, it was a long day
Look, I know it's a 2 years old video but I have a question, have you uploaded the "throttle body install"? I just can't seem to find it :/
The doubtful mind aetiologically fear because professor preliminarily reproduce pro a outstanding mirror. empty, automatic hedge
hey chrisfix can u tell my why is the o-rings important for the intake manifold?
Chris quick question, does your driftstang have a CAI? Ive heard lots of good about them and lots of bad, what do you think?
@ChrisFix ooooh a vid on it would be sick :)
The DriftStang still has the factory air filter, I can make a video on cold air intakes!
Hey chris HOW THE BURNT BURITO FLAVORED CHEETO DO YOU KNOW THAT COOLANT TASTES SWEET?
Part common knowledge part information from lab testing, but no matter what it tastes like, you’ll want to handle it safely and keep it away from pets and small children!
I fucked up the tap lol
