I really enjoyed ChrisFix videos, I have learnt a lot about car systems and how to fix from easy to more complex car issues. At the same time, I have already saved thousand of dollars. The videos are very well done, nice edition and easy to understand procedures. Thank you ChirsFix.
nice wheels, good choice , great job
ersa
😀😀🔥🔥🔥♥️♥️
Hey Chris how long does this last with the wheel weights? Do they crack the bondo?
@ChrisFix ok so they have held up then
I've never had issues with the wheel weights or the bondo cracking after doing this
I’ve had my eye on some alloys for my rover 25, some beaten up rashy scratched wheels for 100 for all 4 I think maybe this will be the my little occupying project next to be done
how long does it take to do 1 wheel
I did all the wheels in about 6 hours so about 1:30 per wheel!
Pity that tire shops typically don't handle wheels with respect to help maintain the paint finish.
Yeah it's a gamble sometimes, find someone you trust!
that is not the right way to spray paint in can and prepping wheels scripted man
Thanks for sharing, how would you do this repair?
Man i would love to have seen the look on your dads face!!!! You did such a AMAZING job like usual!
Man think about getting your rimms to the company popping on the wheels... and then they butcher them
PS why not draw a circle on that paper so the lid stays clean!!! :) Keep it clean dude
What a bad rim choice did that prior owner had! AMAZING results dude! I got an old Civic 2001 and the rims show some paint wear, chipping and flacking off(is that even English). Hope i can keep it easy and not need to pop the tires off.
ALways kinda baffled how small 30 gram weight can make such huge difference on wheels. I mean i understand the concept, but the low amount of weight is jsut weird.
Can you powder paint on wheels with bondo?
Amazing work, but gathering all the material you have used will take me a month :/ is all the material you have used available in europe?
Wooter
I have one thing to say to you... YOU ARE THE MAN!
I used a primer filler (couldn't get the Bondo one) and the orange peel was really bad even after sanding down with 600/800. Is the Bondo primer really that much different than the duplicolor, etc?
Is it possible the primer was too cold? It was 55 degrees in my garage
Actually a tutorial that isnt boring or made u wanna skip any of it
I liked the before wheels more
Just curb rashed my wheel today and was heart broken. When looking up how to fix it, Chris Fix it popped up. I was instantly relieved. Of course the video is perfect in everyway. Chris is the f*&king man! Thank you!
Fav ff game on my iPod touch my iPhone with a game and a game for a few days I love the graphics so I can get some of my friends from playing with friends or some other people that have to do this to me to start
Quick, simple and to the point video. Me likey !! gonna do my wheels this weekend. Tx for the great vid Chris !! Keep up the good work...
Anyone know for sure if the filler primer is ok to use on wheels, even though it isn’t rated specifically for heat... or wheels? Just curious.
Just clear it with 2k clear then you wouldn’t have to worry about the elements the stuff is durable in the elements.
I’ve got the Honey Comb rims on my Jeep. I’ll check back in 2 weeks to let you know how they turn out. Well, 2 weeks later. I have no fingers but my rims look great!
*Chris walks into the local camera store* Camera store guy: Spray painted your lens again?
I am thinking of not spray painting my rims after I fix the road rash and damages I have, I am thinking of maybe getting a friend to powder coat them. Penny for your thoughts?
Best diy car repair/maintenance channel on LTworlds easily.
Where do I buy the wheel repair kit
And that's how a car should look. Outstanding!
Your 💯💯💯💯💯 for this mah G👌
Would jb weld work instead of bondo??
"And that's a feeling you can't beat". Yes, I can.....Here's $400-500 for new wheels and save my broken back. AH! Looks great and I'm still able to walk!!
Thanks for sharing
Can I apply this process over already painted wheels ? Or would I have to completely strip the old paint off first?
I have a smaller scratch that is really deep but it’s only in one spot do I need to do the whole wheel or is it possible to just do that spot
Well done
the transformation is insane!
It made them look brand new!
Can I use glazing spot putty to fill in the deep gouges?
Has anyone done this with the tire on?
At least there is usually only two wheels to apply the 'Chris Fix' to. The ones closest to the kerb. If the offside wheels are damaged you need to have a word with yourself!
This was a great project
Dude rn i want to work on my own project I wish u could see the rims
It was!
am i the only one who likes the Before rims more than the After?
Wenn ich Werbung sehen will, gucke ich im Fernseher !! 😖😖
Hey Chris, I noticed you didn't strip the clear coat off these rims in this video. Compared to the video of the Cadillac rim where you did strip the clear coat. Why is that??
Wow the car looks good Chris!🙂
Thanks!
Any tips for restoring rims with a hard chrome finish? I have a set of old rims I picked up from work to practice restoring and painting before I try it on my own truck, however ontop of the aluminum is a flaky chrome finish, what would/should I do about this?
I would do this: ltworlds.info/home/vaizdo-ra-as/nYlrzdFrYLp4cbw.html
Thank you
Of course!
Fantastic Job Man!
My Dad had a scrape on his chevy silverado tire! He couldn't replace his tire, so he replaced it with a spare tire to make it a lot better, but what happened to my Dad's steel wheel is has gone rusty so we couldn't clean it but we got some rust oleum to spray the rusty wheel!
I will see dad paint his rusty wheel very, very soon!
Wow good job sir.

Actually looks like dust masks are going back in stock!
With the sand paper is there a 10 girt
Is there a UK alternative to bondo?

👍👍👍
Thanks great video as always. What is better the wheel lacquer you used or 2k lacquer? In a can thanks
It’s fun
Nice job bro btw does repairing an old used alloy wheels lowers the comfort and experience than a brand new one?? if yes what would be the difference.
About $80 in material plus tires I think I will just go to the junkyard and try to find some decent ones instead of repairing the ones I have. Or selling websites
Thanks for sharing!
I restored my winter set..and now i will restor my summer set..thanks to your videos..THANK YOU 👌
Can we use a wire brush instead of the rotary tool with the wire wheel to clean up the curb rash?
how much did u get the rims for
@ChrisFix thx love your vids
Got them from a junkyard for only $60! Had to repair them though haha
I have those rims lol but way better condition then those in a black Malibu 💤
What size battery did you plug into your arm to do that siper high speed sanding?
As someone who fixes this kind of stuff daily, I can tell you that doing this with hand sanding likely took him 8 hours just to do 1 rim start to finish.. your hands are going to hurt real bad
Awesome video. I would have put a ceramic coating before having the tires put on to keep those factory rims looking awesome for longer and to make them easier to clean.
Cheap work
Christopher Fixes.
soo glad he didnt use ramen
Damn that would take me all day bro
Vicesat: I see a rival
Wow Chris you're so fast at 7:53 damn
No I ran over a racoon it damaged my rim
The rims look fresh
i like how he says good
When you finished with the front of the wheel did you flip it over and work on the back or did you do it the other way around?
ChrisFix should be the king of car LTworlds
I used basically the same process to refinish second-hand factory alloy wheels for my Volvo a number of years ago. However, since the topcoat didn't get as hard as I thought it should even after days of curing, I put the wheels in the oven (one at a time) and baked them for a while at fairly low temperature. That seemed to cure the paint much better. Despite the good results, I ended up getting rid of the wheels because they were out of round a bit and wouldn't balance well. That's the risk when buying used wheels.
i closed my eyes when he said “if i close my eyes i can’t feel it “ 8:58
Hey Chris big fan. How much of the cans did you use for all 4 wheels? Will one can suffice or should a couple of each he bought?
Did anyone have any specific issues trying this with tires still on the wheel? (besides covering up the tire before paint with index cards/trash bags/etc...) Also, any good substitutes for cleaning with rubbing alcohol? (denatured alcohol, brake cleaner, more soapy wooder)?
@ChrisFix Thanks for replying to an older video, and I figured as much. I have a couple spots right up against the lip though, but I think using a plastic trim tool may help form the edge.
If you cover everything up, you shouldn't have any issues!
Would you paint the inside of the wheel before or after the front? Would you do spray the front and back of the wheel layer by layer or paint the front fully then the back?
Is this doable with the tires on the rim?
this vid will be relevant for decades ahead respect
Help ChrisFix!! I’m trying to file your video as best I can. Everything is looking great until.. drip mark from the clear coat!!! What do I do???
My man. You are good at making videos. Thank you for the hard work.
Thanks a lot!
Should the inside of the rims be painted first or does it matter?
Yeah I"m pretty sure he used a different wheel after the final coat dried, right before the 600 grit sandpaper. The original wheel had a chunky spot on the edge where he couldn't get it perfectly straight. After the paint dries, he magically has a perfectly circled edge, where did the dent go?
Very well done.
Does anyone know if I should paint the inside of the wheel where the tire sits?
I wouldn't do that. No point.
I'm getting a used set of stock wheels for my car, to use as my summer/all-season wheels. (Putting winter tires on my current wheels after I clean the set that I'm getting) I don't think I will go ALL the way making them look new. I just want them to look clean.. from a distance xD
Lol I promise you'll want them to look brand new once you're working on them!
Any one know what the wheels are called or come off of
This video made me subscribe, awesome video!👍🏾
Welcome aboard! Thanks a lot!
Chris is having full command on his subject thats why he makes things so much easy and understandable. A Devoted man
about to do this one mine for RAYS wheels that the previous owner rashed on... anyone have advice whether to use DipYour Car or to find wheel paint? what’s the difference
One of the best explanation videos I've watched on youtube and I watch a LOT! Didn't talk to slow nor to fast, explained everything perfectly! Thank you!
Quick question, do you paint the inside of the rim? And if you do, how do you recommend doing it, im planning to restore and respray my own rims myself
11:28 "Wutter"... That's a Philly accent for ya!
*wooder :p
Are you crazy? The wheels witch you bout the car with look awesome. Why did you change them. The are way better then the new wheels you put on the car.
