I imagine if I were to drive a truck now, I’d either have to drive it so slow until I get used to it, or I’d be pushing it like a sports coupe and probably crash it. 😅

  • Chris, I recently replaced my pads & rotors but they still pulsate a lil when braking sometimes, kinda like when your rotors are worn/warped but not as bad. Can you think of a reason why. I've done brakes a few times in the past.

  • Chris, I just replaced my front pads and rotors thanks to this video, but when I started the engine and pressed on the brake pedal to pump it up, I hardly felt feedback. I took the car for a test drive, and the brakes work, but they are not firm or "hard" as you described. In order to brake, it feels like I'm pressing further into the pedal than should be the case. Does this raise any alarms for you? I'm about to take it on a road trip, so I'm nervous. It's a Ford Explorer if that helps. Since I'm taking this road trip, I've got one other question for you. I over-torqued one of the lug nuts when I put the wheels back on and snapped 1 of the 5 studs. I know I'll have to fix it soon, but is it really that unsafe to be missing 1 stud (driver side wheel)? It's an 8hr highway trip one-way. I don't have much time before leaving to fix it and would hate to bring it to a mechanic after the work I put into the car myself. Hope you can offer some advice, thanks!

I was wondering if there is a way to verify that the brakes are functioning correctly, other than just stopping the car. Like the pad is not rubbing on the drum before it’s too late.

  • Hi mate, few weeks ago i replaced my honda accord with new front pads but not the rotor but didn't notice that my rotors are warped as my car still vibrates on the pedal and steering wheel. Then installed new set of rotors and reused the nearly new pads on the front that i used earlier. I drove it and straight away noticed squeaking and grinding when i run the car but no noise when breaking. It made a slightly deep grove around rotor too. I didn't clean the nearly new pads prior to installing. Really giving me headaches and would gladly need some advise. Thanks

  • Chris, you say you go over the top by spray painting everything, but I think it is awesome and necessary. I did a brake job 3 months ago and skipped the sprint on all the new parts. I went to swap my tires with winter tires and noticed my 3 month old parts were all rusted and looked like crap! I tried to clean with rust removers, but it wasn't worth my time. I am using my warranty and getting new ones. Also, they make spray paint that is specific for brakes(high heat). Is that the kind of paint you use? Or do you just use regular spray paint?
