  • Chris Fixer, thank you for this video. I needed to know this valuable and quality information on soldering. I just bought a soldering iron and needed to learn how to properly solder wires and get a good introduction into this topic. I had no idea what the sponge "was" for in my kit I bought, but now I know. I now know there are soldering guns and irons. Thank you!

  • I want to ask a question, great video as always but why do Americans pronounce 'solder' as 'sodder', the 'L' isn't silent, and if you think it is, how do you pronounce the word 'Sold' ... do you say I 'sod' a car today? lol I'm only being a bit pedantic about it but I'm also genuinely curious if there is a reason why this has come about, any Americans who can tell me cos it makes me smile every time I hear one of you guys talking about 'soLdering' something lol By the way I'm very jealous of anyone with steady enough hands to solder properly, my hands shake so badly that let's just say if you see me going to try and diffuse a bomb then make use of the head start!

  • @ChrisFix ...I repaired a motorcycle tail light turn signal wire small gauge wire ...it was in a way that I could not take more wire without sacrificing length and it was going in a bend of two wires long story short there may have been a part where a strand may have been missing I soldered the entire section. I'm the video you say may blow a fuse or over heat is there a way I can test for proper function so that this does not happen
