  • By the way if you shop at Advance Auto and use the code "SPARK" at checkout, you will get 25% off your entire order (order anything, not just plugs) from 6/21 - 9/30. *I do not make a penny from this. I literally asked Advance Auto for a discount for my Subscribers (and I use it too lol). I hope that helps!

  • Owners manuals do not take into account improving technology. Over time plugs get better and last longer. Even a standard copper plug will outperform and outlast a copper plug that was made 20 years ago. Much like oil today. As for anti seize....always use copper based anti seize or one with a magnesium based.

  • My Toyota Yaris 2016 spark plugs got stuck. I took my car for periodic maintenance to a Toyota service Center. They told me that my spark plugs got stuck. If they try harder, the casing holding the spark plugs might crack. They said I might be able to run another 100k kilometer with current spark plugs. What are the consequences and what do you suggest.?

Now, I thought it might be a vacuum line since there's about 86 thousand of them on this car, but I think its the plugs. I burn oil and it used to run rich due to retarded timing so I'm sure I have some fouled plugs

  • adding dielectric grease is not required, but it doesn't hurt, most of the time. Add too much, and you raise the risk of shorting occurring. --yup. one wire at a time, as possible, to prevent mixing things up. I also, on my own cars, will take a paint marker or something and put numbers on the top of each plug. Realistically, most cars today ... it's pretty hard to get the wires wrong because they only properly fit one way anyhow.

I was fixing my incandescent plugs (of my Citroen Xsara Break 2003) inspired by this video and when I was twisting the plugs, they broke. Its a major screw up, I know, but is it stil possible to remove them? they are old style incadescent plugs, so they are completly in, they twist and wiggle but dont come out, any tips?
