Even though I know 'jack' about cars I actually knew where to look before deciding. On Monday I'm going to have the VIN and the diagnostics checked and might be buying :) Thanks a lot Chris!

If I have someone pry up on the hood a little while I pull the release, it will pop like normal. Should doing what you did in this video fix my issue?

  • So that's how the battery to my car was stolen. Some theif left my hood popped open, and I wanted to understand how they did it. I now know how to do it, but is there anyway I can prevent them from getting to the wire. I was thinking of welding medal sheets to prevent them from tempering with the wires. Is there a better alternative you guys might reccomend? I've heard of the battery lock mechanism.

  • Old video, sure, but it got me wondering: This is a common issue with Jags that have two hood latches, where one won't work - from either a stretched cable or improper adjustment. What Chris did here; from underneath the car works if there is a clear path to the latch, otherwise, things will get broken to get the hood open. Maing takeaway: LUBRICATE your hood cables. Do it early. Do it often. In fact, go do it now...
