Hi
5:47 Chris: he isn’t going to take 30% off of this car! Also Chris: *gets the car for nearly 40% off*
When is it too many miles to even waste time looking into?
me: finds a good skoda octavia rs for an amazing price ad description: 2 owners, both women also me: looks up the price for a new octavia clutch
LOL
Is there a general rule-of-thumb when negotiating price? Like just take a stab with 30% off? I'm not trying to be a douche but just know that most people will probably try to inflate their asking price anyway.
Freaking scum Car Salesmen are just the worst form of life on the planet. Really vile life forms. My Pappy told me that 60 years ago and I've surely come to know what he meant. I especially love how the sons of whores like to back out after you've "finalized" a "deal". Say you agree on $10,000. Then, as you're doing the paperwork after you've signed up for the "deal", you find that $10,000 is afore 16 fees ranging from $2.95 to $500. By the time you're done, you're payin' $12,500. Sure, some of the fees are required, but some ain't. Then, couple days later, you find rust on the undercarriage, oil leaks, emissions problems - you name it. You were the guy's absolute BESTEST BUD when he sold you the car. When he sees you coming back with a problem, he doesn't know who you are. Really, really disgusting people. Animals and inanimate objects of all kinds are more valuable than the excrement we call "Car Salesmen".
My credit was in the 560 to 570 range. But now my credit score is now 728 and climbing! My credit union gave me a credit card, and refinanced my car and truck. We went from 10% to 2.8%. I am saving up to buy a Cessna. My financial world is better. I am glad I took the first step to contact (EAGLESPYHACKER@GMAIL.COM) who worked his magic on my credit profile. And to add, 30 days later my car insurance went down $100 per month; cell phone lowered $100 per month; and vehicles $400 lower! Improving my credit lowered my living expenses by $7200 per year. I wish I had taken action earlier but it is not too late for you out there needing a credit fix and in fast time too.
This is his dads old car
So basically if you are selling a second hand car and you see ChrisFix walking towards you, Run.
Hi there Chris, clicking on the checklist link doesn't redirect to the page for download. Could you please tell me where i'm supposed to look at ?? Thank you
Great video. Well done
Just to throw it out there, a 60 thousand dollar jaguar is cheaper than a 3000 thousand dollar jaguar.
Chris pls answer does this work in europe/italy im desperste for a car
Hey Chris I’m looking at buying a used 2019 civic si. It’s being sold at a dealership rather than privately, is there anything I should do differently or is it pretty much the same. ( I’ve never done this before so anything would help!
I would still do a thorough inspection like this on it even though it's a newer car!
Imagine walking around the car with a fridge magnet 😂 the dude would be like wtf
3:09 You should have gone for that 02' Saturn SL2 in the back! Great little car.
No one is ever going to sell a car for the Trade-in value in a private sale. There's a reason "trade-in" and "private" are two different categories. People decide to see their vehicles privately instead of including them in a trade at a dealership because it would be pointless.
I do not like it when people drive up in a warm car. I want a cold start. Most rattle and lifter issues will be most noticeable. As such, I either meet at someone's home, or they need to leave it parked in said place overnight.
DAMN! Thank you Chris! Love your videos greetings from 🇲🇽 Wish used to had this list 7 years ago :P hahahaha but be sure I’ll use it next time I get a car
Hi i'm from Morocco you're really an expert and so cool
Do you need a PPI if you're going to go through that whole list you have?
This cars are rubbish.....nobady wants them in UK and Europe...that's way they are soo cheap.....breaks all the time , electrics etc.
Ha! Chris are you in NJ? Is that a Rutgers magnet? Lol
I called the guy asked him if he’s selling the car still...he said what car. I got nervous and hung up bc chris skipped that cut scene
Well most of the time people check private party value and not the trade in value because it makes more sense.
Yes that is how you checked a car 7 year ago but since computers all changed, I have never seen a car on the roadside that as took my eye. My last three cars I have brought online, there is things one can do even before contacting the seller, there is the information the seller as give, you can check finance and most important book value. My last car I brought I still have a Vauxhall Astra Design car dealer value just over £3,000 private value just over £2,000 the car actual value was £2,295 from a car dealer so well withing the price range, you have to remember a dealer will be well up on the price of the car so there is a reason he as advertised it well below its value. Regristration number was there sometimes not so may have to ask when you contact the seller, with Reg you can get MOT history and full vahicle check even before contacting him, other information you can get is insurance so there is a lot you cab get even before contacting the seller. When you contact the seller you want as much information as possible, from my contact I want to be 80% sure before I go to see the car, it had 9 months MOT and I asked the seller if they would get l2month MOT, I think the seller was took back and at first said no, when I stopped contact he contacted me and said he would if I promised to buy it, never commit yourself to buy a car you haven't seen or tested, I said no but if the seller got a l2 month MOT then I would defently come and see it, he said what does he get out of it? I said as long as I am happy with car then I will not lower the price. He said for me to see it before he tested it, I said no because I feel he was trying to get out of testing it, he thought if I see the car I would knock the price down and take it then as I was coming 50 mile to look at it, eventually he did agree to test it. The good thing about a test you are bringing in someone else to test it, also if your stopped by the Police and car is danderous and its just had a test your in the clear. He tested it and it faied a broken suspension spring and side light out and one advisery tye near ileggal limit, so with the twelve month test I went to look and test it, when looking at it noticed tape on mirror, it had been bump at back passanger side becaue door wasn't stright and paint wasn't a perfect match and passanger door window wouldn't go up and down other wise car looked good, checked oils and looked at seat, never dod much safety checks because it had just been tested main thing was oil leaks and general mantainance of car, had full service history and car looked as it had been well looked after. Took car for test drive a little low on petrol so put a few pounds of petrol in, took it for a good drive around town and on the bypass vary solid smooth drive. When got back checked oil and fluid again and asked him for reg document and checked numbers to car all was good so decided to buy. Went into office while he sorted paper work out I got insured and dealer arranged tax, gave him the money all fine. Put new mirror on and got a repair kit for window, their was a fault with cylinder 2 fuel injecter so a furthe £200 and car was faultless. So for £2,495 got a car with value of £3,295 so saved £800, had car now two years accept service items which most peop;e would do when they buy a used car , all work I have done is exhaust a year and 3 month after byting the car. So yes there is a few ways to make sure your getting a good deal.
Thanks for sharing!
Went through your checklist on a car I was looking quickly realized that the car was a junker and not worth my time or money.
Can you please tell me how to do this in Australia?
@ChrisFix Thanks in advance bro!
Thanks for the series idea!
I travel 1hr 10 mins everyday to get to work and 1hr 30 mins to get home finally I've saved enough to get a car but this is the difficult part for me
most car salesmen in NY NJ CT MA dont allow any of this lmfao
Ask if they're a smoker. If they are, coffee grounds gets the smell out, but your car will turn into a starbucks.
what should I do in this cases if I live in The Netherlands? I mean the sites from the links, and do you know a Dutch 'autotempest' ?
dude hasd 10 mil and now he is on 6 mil! 0:02
What do you do when the vin comes back with a recall that hasn't been fixed? How do you bring that up in the conversation???
wHAT is the best cheapest car scanner??
I’m trying to buy a car myself and found myself here again lol didn’t even search it up. I say this is a sign
I agree! Let me know how your car buying adventure goes!
"don't think about buying a car today cuze 9 out of 10 u gonna be walking away." chrisfix wisdom
How do I get check list for buying a cheap used car?
Video obviously made after he bought it. His name is on the front and back of the car while he is talking to the owner.
It costs 15k to 20k to buy this car in my country.
Interesting, thanks for sharing!
hmm, the NADA calculator seems to be useless. it was unable to give a value for a 96 tacoma
The best new thing that I picked up on was not to mention the make of the car. If the guy says which one, hang up. There are things that did not give me a warm confident feeling. The owner does not know the correct year of the car? Immediate red flag! #2 was the $2999 - most average people would just list $3000. More than likely not a big deal. The 2 free VIN checks are good but they will not show odometer fraud. That car had low mileage for that year. Anyone can buy a tool for about $150 that will roll back the odometer in less than 2 minutes. Check out odometer fraud/rollback on YT.
I want a mclaren 720s. How much money should i have for this to be a sensible purchase? Also is it ok to buy a car like that used?
Jaguar is never a good deal.
This is too much. Just give me a lease lol
Is having recalls good or bad
The ultimate bargaining skill is your ability to walk away and mean it.
4:09 "Good idea to bring a fle...ASH light." Nice save
Why do we need to know if it is dealer or not? Are dealers bad?
What about rebuilt titles?? Can you do a video on that?
Chris, great video! How do I get the checklist??
Chris, I suggest also including CarFax's free odometer fraud check. I used it and get myself getting scammed. I already saw the mileage was wrong from the vincheck, but I confirmed it with the free odometer fraud check. Guy ghosted me when I called him out on it.
hey Chris, love your videos so far. I am learning a TON. I am in the market for a used car right now, and after watching these videos on what to do when buying a used car, I was wondering something: do I still need a mechanic to check out this car? I noticed at the end of this transaction on this Jaguar, you walked home with the car the same day. Everywhere I look I hear that I should "get a mechanic to check it out". Is this checklist you have the equivalent of having a mechanic check out the car? Thanks for anything!
I brought the paper towel for this wap
I went on NADA and KBB and I couldn’t find where I put in the information, like the year and the mileage
One suggestion I have for your checklist is to add "Drive Type (FWD, RWD, AWD, 4X4)"
Bring us scanner everybody erasing codes nowadays what should you do if you find the codes are erased Chris
Hi Sir,, can you please show me the Chrisfix form so i can clearly read all the questions on the form.. plz show the form in the video.. hope to hear from you.. i like your video.. thanks.. Antoni
Sold cars for 15 yrs - this is all you need to know: Subaru. Honda. Toyota. That’s it. Look it up.
I clicked on it for the next one and it wouldn’t come up. Bugger
I know that yellow on that plate anywhere... Jersey shit
What about trying to get lower than the trade-in value?
So I tried to get to your checklist, but the link did not work. Is there another way to get to that checklist? Im currently looking at used cars and that would be a huge help.
Having issues with the checklist link, help plz
bought a car a week ago and told me car was never in an accident and it has clean title so i went to my insurance and they told me that they consider the car as a total loss because it was totaled but it still has clean title and im being charged the same as a salvage title for the insurance.
Excellent advice Chris! One exception. Don't bring the money. Not on your person or car. Meet later after the negotiation and after you see the title. Pay then!
Wow that Mazda is a Ranger. My dad's Explo looks the same inside, same side mirrors and what not. Is it a V6? Or a 4 pot? The Explo is a 5.0, lots of fuel lol.
You are correct! It's the V6!
Should I still check using carfax after test drive?
Hi chris i have been interested in a 2015 Audi A3 1.6tdi with 180000km. Just wandering for some inspection tips and yeah price tips also. The car is cross state from where I live.
The checklist is not in the server, I'm not able to download it, do you have another link for it please?
My father checked an bike's vin Code, and it said it is rolls-rolyce
Excellent video. I sold cars for about 10 years. One thing, I see a lot where I am now is scammers selling "salvage", "rebuilt" "scrap" cars without telling the buyer they have no value, can not be financed, And can not ever be covered by "full coverage" insurance.
Thanks for sharing!
Really wish you had videos this helpful for european market. It's really hard to find proper prices on used market here
Chris - If the car was well loved by a family, and reasonably well maintained and checked off pretty much every box on your inspection sheet (minus a few slight scratches that don't bother me), how would you feel about a 2008 Honda Element that has 200k miles? too much?
Hey Chris I can't seem to get the link to your checklist to work is there a new link? Thanks for all the help and videos bro!
very poor quality, the car quickly rusts, the steering wheel vibrates at speed, this is a big understatement
Chris with the crazy amount of cars on sale for lower prices due to covid this video is a godsend! Thank you so much
Thank you so much for the videos and the checklists you made! I feel much more confident looking at used cars now. What a great tool your lists are so you should be proud of them! 😊 Again, thanks Chris!
The call sounded very rehearsed
My dad’s tried and true method is to get different dealerships really invested into what he’s looking for and then just say “no”. He helped me snag a 2018 Honda CR-V for $150 per month 😂
What if the private seller is selling multiple cars?
Dont buy cars at night, sometimes the time the sellers or buyers would not even show-up at meeting place.
Chris, I always CRINGE when someone uses the term "VIN NUMBER." The term is VIN. You are professional, yet made this mistake multiple times in one video.
Thanks for sharing
The websites you listed, i tried to find the values of the car but the websites aren't directing me to the papers you have. Like for NADA and Kelley Blue book
So cheap. A Jaguar for $3k. Unbelievable
Any one notice the Chris fix plate
I tried to download the Car Inspection Checklist but was not available. Where can I get it? Thank you
Buy a new car and don't take it to some 15 year old hack working out of his drivway
Where have you been , Over your videos , haven't seen any in some time ???
That was love not over
Will you please give me a free car. I live in Orlando,FL🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
1:54. Im watching this vid and i left off here so like or comment a random letter or something so u can remember i put this here lol
Thanks Dad!
I was wondering what are the best floor jacks and jack stands out today?
Jag doesn't need any work?!? On the worst pieces of crap ever made. Comparable to rover, ford, chrysler, gm, etc.
you are amazing
the videos of chrisfix are better than the other car videos, its entertaining and interactive, when you watch that, you just wanna get out and repair your car
Hi CrissFix I'm trying to research information about recalls of a car that i want to buy but i write the VIN number and the page show me this: "An error occurred with your request. Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. does not recognize your VIN." I have to worry about it? Cheers mate and thanks for your advices
You make the most clear cut videos on LTworlds man! Keep up the good work.
This video has come full circle now that you got your pops an even more badass car.
